About the event

Come join us at the Falcon Shelter, University of Iowa MacBride Nature Recreation Center for Igniting Intentions, a reflective ceremony for the New Year focused on gratitude, release, and renewal led by Renee Gullickson and Adeline Bradley. This event sees to create space to honor the past year, release what no longer serves us and find gratitude in it, and set meaningful intentions for the year ahead.

What to Expect:

Opening Reflection: We’ll begin with a poem and guided meditation to explore gratitude, even in the things we aim to let go of.

Silent Contemplation Walk: Take 20-30 minutes to quietly explore the area, reflect, and gather a twig or branch for the ceremonial fire. During this time, you will also write a list focusing on:

  • What you are grateful to this past year for bringing.

  • What you hope to let go of in the coming year.
